About Rodney Crowell

Rodney J. Crowell was born in Texas on August 7, 1950 to James Walter Crowell and Addie Cauzette Willoughby. There are conflicting reports as to whether he was born in Crosby or Houston. Due to a clerical error, his legal middle name is “J.” Rodney is an American country music singer-songwriter, musician, record producer and music director.

Rodney’s first wife was Martha, and they were married from circa 1976-1978, and had one daughter. His second marriage was to Rosanne Cash and resulted in three more daughters. Crowell and Cash were married from 1979-1991. His third marriage was to Claudia Church. They have been married since September 12, 1998.

Rodney’s daughter from his first marriage is Hannah, who was born in 1976. However, she was raised by second wife Rosanne Cash, along with their three daughters. Caitlin Rivers Crowell was born in 1980; Chelsea Jean Crowell was born January 25, 1982; and Carrie Kathleen Crowell was born December 12, 1988.
