A$AP Ferg & Ski Mask The Slump God Flip A Classic Missy Elliott Beat On “ILoveYourAunt”

This marks the second time that Ski Mask has rapped over a Missy beat.

After teasing their upcoming collaboration on Twitter, A$AP Ferg and Ski Mask the Slump God dropped a video for their new single “ILoveYourAunt” today. The track borrows its beat from Missy Elliott’s 2001 hit “Get Ur Freak On,” which is produced by Timbaland and appears on her third album Miss E… So Addictive. It peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was eventually certified Platinum.

“ILoveYourAunt” is the second Missy and Timbaland beat that Ski Mask has rapped over recently; his bubbling hit “Catch Me Outside” borrows its beat from her 1999 track “She’s a Bitch.” Ski Mask even named Timbaland as his favorite producer in an interview with XXL back in May.

The song’s title comes from a line that both Ferg and Ski Mask spit at different points on the song:

How much wood would your auntie suck
If I act like a stump and show wood?

This is an interpolation of the classic tongue-twister “how much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood.” The phrase originates from the 1903 track “The Woodchuck Song” from the Broadway musical The Runaways.

Ferg and Ski Mask’s new song comes less than a week after the release of Ferg’s latest project Still Striving, which features rappers like Cam'ron, Lil Yachty, Meek Mill, and French Montana. He’s also set to appear on A$AP Mob’s upcoming album Cozy Tapes Vol. 2: Still Cozy, which drops on Friday.
